EU approves Microsoft’s $7.5 billion Bethesda acquisition

The European Commission has finally approved Microsoft’s $7.5 billion deal to acquire ZeniMax Media, which is the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. Bethesda is the studio behind games such as Doom and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Once the deal is finalized, Microsoft’s list of first-party studios will jump dramatically to 23.

At this time, it is unclear rather all future Bethesda games will be Xbox exclusives, but it is clear that it will make Xbox Gamepass look even better, seeing how all Microsoft’s titles usually come to Gamepass day 1.
